Your asphalt driveway needs to be resurfaced.

We know that complete customer satisfaction is the only sure way to drive our continued growth. Consequently, everything we do is targeted to meeting and exceeding customer expectations by providing professional, high-quality, asphalt services at an affordable price.
Asphalt Resurfacing – An Alternative to Starting Over
Our Virginia climate isn’t nearly as extreme as our neighbors to the north. However, we do have freezes and thaws and when those occur the earth will contract and expand. While asphalt driveways are more flexible than concrete, that movement of earth can create small, easily fixed cracks in the surface. If those cracks are left unrepaired, they will be exposed to rain, freezing, grit, and UV rays and will spread and get deeper. That’s when things go bad.
Resurfacing provides a long-term fix at significantly less expense that replacing a driveway and starting from scratch. Just how involved a resurfacing job becomes, is dependent on the condition of the drive.
At Standard Paving, we start with a comprehensive inspection of your driveway identifying cracks, crumbling edges, pot holes, low spots, and failed asphalt. Based on that inspection, we provide you with a detailed and all inclusive (no hidden costs ever) estimate. We listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and make certain that you fully understand every aspect of the project. When we start, there are no surprises.
Driveway Resurfacing Process
Once we get your OK, the process begins and may include:
- Repairing cracks, pot holes, trimming edges.
- Identifying and cutting out failed asphalt
- Leveling up low spots
- Deep cleaning removing dirt, grime and debris
- When necessary, the top quarter inch of the existing drive may be ground off.
- A new layer (2 to 3 inches deep) of asphalt is installed by a self leveling paver
- Edges are had repaired
- A vibrating commercial roller makes multiple passes compacting the new surface to the old base
All construction debris is removed, and you are left with a beautiful, functional asphalt driveway that enhances your curb appeal and property value.
