Affordable Asphalt Paving Services

- Seal Coating: This is the one service that all property owners should use at least once every three or four years to avoid having to use our other, and more expensive, services. Asphalt is a petroleum product, and like all chemical products, it can be degraded by UV rays and interacting with other chemicals like automotive fluids and deicer chemicals. Periodically giving the pavement a deep cleaning and applying a high-quality sealant can protect against degrading asphalt and give the surface a beautiful slate black appearance. - Repaving and Resurfacing: If your asphalt driveway has multiple cracks, potholes, crumbling edges, or low spots, resurfacing or repaving are likely to be required. For surfaces with shallow (less than ¼ inch deep) cracks, resurfacing can be the solution to the problem. Resurfacing involves grinding off the top layer of existing asphalt and replacing it with a thin layer of new hot-mix asphalt. A roller is then used to bond the new layer with the underlying surface resulting in smooth, beautiful surface. Repaving is more extreme and used when deep cracks and potholes exist. The surface is inspected, asphalt that has structurally failed is identified and cut out, low spots are leveled up, and the surface air swept. This sets up the scene for the self-leveling paver that installs a new layer of asphalt. Edges are hand trimmed and compacted. A vibrating roller compacts the surface creating a brand-new surface.
- Replacing Asphalt Driveway: If your driveway has “grayed out” or is filled with potholes, flaking asphalt, crumbling edges and deep cracks, it may be time to replace it. Replacing an asphalt driveway is much the same as new construction with one difference. We bring in our excavation equipment and dump trucks and rip up the existing asphalt surface. We then grade the subbase, ensure there are no drainage issues, fill with gravel, compact it, and bring in the self-leveling paver. The rest of the process is very similar to repaving. When we are done, you’ll be good for 20 to 30 years.
- Tar and Chip Paving: This century old paving process continues to be popular with county and state road departments because of its relatively low cost. But many homeowners and businesses like the rustic, textured, appearance for their driveways and parking lots. Tar and chip paving creates an all weather, hard as a rock, low to no maintenance surface that you can even choose the color! And of course it is more affordable than hot-mix asphalt. Many asphalt contractors don’t offer tar and chip service because they don’t have the equipment, or more importantly, they don’t have the experience to do it properly.
